In 1995 and 1996, Cookie Willacy recorded an album at a small studio in Greenfield, Pennsylvania with his band Zephaniah.

But no one would ever hear it. By it's completion, the album was more than a year in the making and was never released.

For twenty-seven years all copies of the project were thought to be lost, until February 20th, 2023, when a lone copy was discovered in the vaults of Pittsburgh Sound Productions.

We present to you, SACRED FIRE.

Cookie gives this album from his soul to humanity. It addresses social issues of the human condition, like falling in and out of love. With historical overtones like the song Sacred Fire which was inspired by a dream in which Crazy Horse spoke to Cookie and told him his name twice. Bully with a badge was written to bring awareness of police brutality. Homeless was inspired by a Vietnam veteran that befriended Cookie.

The songs are timeless, addressing social injustices still resonating in today's world. The right songs at the right time, ageless.

Cookie Willacy was born in Highgate St Mary, Jamaica. He moved to Kingston when he was seventeen where he would work with such greats as Jacob Miller, Derek Laura, Big Youth, Dennis Brown and Sly and Robbie. In 1982 he and his group S.W.A.M.M.P. Band emigrated to Pittsburgh, PA where he performed with Errol Francis and JJ Patrick Smith. In 1995 he started his solo career with his band Zephaniah. ... more
